Emily's Baby Shower

Well, Emily is now overdue!  Miss Abigail Grace is taking her time coming into this world - but hey - a lady always makes an entrance!  :)

My dear friend, Pat, was kind enough to include me in the celebration and asked me to make some mini-cakes for the shower.  We decided on "Cute as a Button" theme - and these cakes were just that!  I made some fondant buttons which ended up matching the decorations and party supplies perfectly!

Hurry up Abigail - we want to meet you so bad!!!

Marvel and DC...together...that's right.

It's Domi's birthday! He's requested Batman and Spiderman. * sigh * Give him a break - he's only turning 3. He'll learn! hee hee! Marvel and DC Comics - there's been crossovers before, right?

Bart and I decided on Hulk, Spidey, Iron Man, Batman...and I threw in Superman! Can't have Batman representing all on his own! :) Each character has two poses...

And his smash cake was a huge Batman! :) Looks like it was well enjoyed...

For the adults, I made some delicious Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting...to die for!

The perfect birthday photo!

Trey usually insists on taking a photo with the party cakes before we deliver...no exception this day! :)

Tinkerbell and Friends

It's Bianca's 4th birthday with a Tinkerbell theme! What fun!

I had Tink and her pals standing in signature "Tinkerbell-green" hydrangeas with a Tinkerbell smash cake.

Dinos for Dillon!

It was a 4 year old birthday party for Trey's buddy Dillon - Dinosaurs!!! How could I resist using color and creative license on the creatures?!?

I decided on doing an:

Apatosaurus

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Stegosaurus

Triceratops

Pterodactyl

and Pteranodon...

...and of course for the smash cake - a HUGE T-REX!

I received great response on the new vanilla recipe I concocted - I think this may be the keeper!

Smash Cake

This is the smash cake made for Mai's nephew - they requested a jack-o-lantern - I had a great time doing a mini pumpkin. Here's the before and after I drew the face...in hind sight I may have carved the face in - but instead I used an edible ink pen.

Godzilla!!!

My friend Joanna asked me to do something special for her son's 4th birthday...something I'd never thought to do! Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla smash cakes and cupcakes...SUPER FUN! I used melting chocolate and make mini ones and gigantic ones...they had to be transported over an hour in the blazing heat...I was SO worried they would melt! In hindsight, I probably should have done them in royal icing...but the chocolate was a hit and none of them melted - so no harm done!
