My friend and co-worker, Christine, was throwing a birthday party for her daughter Maya. It is an important ideal to their family to teach Maya about diversity, cultures and the world around us...what a neat idea for a theme! She asked to have a smash cake shaped like a globe with cupcakes topped with children from different countries.
I had a great time finding images on-line - I used some sketches from a stock photo site - and put a few changes to the details.
Grandma is still in the hospital - so again, I had a few challenges in terms of time management - as I was at the hospital a lot. But all in all, I was happy with the results. :)

Honey...I Blew Up the Ferrero Rocher
It was Tram's sister birthday - Tram decided to surprise her with her favorite candy...as a cake! The huge sculpted Ferrero Rocher cake was only supposed to feed 10-15...the cake ended up a lot larger than intended...like 3 times the size!!! Yikes!
I made a triple hazelnut cake (Frangelico, toasted hazelnuts, and chocolate hazelnut oil) - with chocolate hazelnut filling and a Nutella Cream frosting. Before I covered the cake, I threw on some finely chopped toasted hazelnuts - to create a detail to mimic the candy. It was covered in chocolate fondant and sprayed with edible gold luster and detailed with brushed on gold luster dust. I hand painted the label - and DH made the wrapper.
That week was crazy - my grandmother went into the hospital - so my time management went tot he wayside...the wrapper was supposed to be painted with gold detail and made from foam core, the cake was supposed to be covered in gumpaste so I could get a greater detail in the "foil wrap" effect...but all in all, it worked out well!
Tram is sending me photos of the cross section and some photos of guests enjoying the cake :) So...more photos to post soon!

Gabe's FOUR!
Another jungle theme! We went to Gabe's birthday party at Safari Run - FUN FUN!!!
Aunt B asked me to make cupcakes for his birthday with a kid safari theme...here's how they came out - I couldn't get my stuff together on time - so I rushed out of the house without my cupcake stands!!! :( So, I made do with what they had at the facility - utensil boxes stacked...oh well!
I just love the look on Gabe's face when he saw his HUGE lion jumbo cuppie!

Baby Shower Jungle Cake
Teresa and her friends threw a baby shower - twins!!! They had a jungle theme and requested a tiered cake with fondant baby jungle animals and animal print. The bottom tier was a dark chocolate cake and the top tier was just for the honoree - a low sugar, diabetic chocolate cake - which ended up being really moist and yummy!
I didn't get a very good photo of the zebra - more photos to come from Teresa with the actual party guests! :)

Zachy's One!
The boys just love Wow Wow Wubbzy! Trey and Brody decided to throw Zachy's One year old Birthday Party with a Wow Wow Wubbzy theme! How fun!
The party was wow wow wonderful! We did our best to decorate the house to look like Wuzzleburg - complete with birdie bird and Daisy.
We made cupcakes with Wubbzy, Widget and Walden - Zachy's smash cake was intended to be a shape Wubbzy cake - but I ran out of time - so it was just a simple layered cake with frosting colored "Wubbzy Yellow". :)
I lost my camera that day - so thanks to Uncle Bart for taking some pics!
